Just back from a nice long weekend in Chicago — what a great city! The trip was a mixture of pleasure and business as Aiko Designs is now available at a nearby store called Botanica! Botanica is beautiful shop that sells carefully selected home & garden products as well as art, jewelry and other gifts. It’s located in Oak Park, a lovely village about 10 miles west of downtown Chicago where you’ll find Frank Lloyd Wright’s home & studio and the Ernest Hemingway Museum. I fell in love with this area and definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago!

You can now find Aiko Designs jewelry at Marques, a lovely little shop on Clement Street in the Inner Richmond district of San Francisco. You’ll find plenty to love at the store with it’s antiques, home decor, jewelry and gift items. The owner, Ubi DaCosta whips up a gorgeous display and changes it up every few months.
More info on Marques from their site:
Marques offers a wide variety of unique gifts and home furnishings. A balanced mix of new, vintage and antiques items make the store atmosphere resemble a boutique on a small street in the old world. All products are sourced based on uniqueness, quality and elegance. The store carries favorite brands from France such as Roger & Gallet, Bronnley from England and Boticario from Brazil. Art work fill walls with delicate botanical prints, mirrors and lithographs. Upholstered toille chairs and slipcovers add resemblance to the eternal elegance of european country homes. the china and silver collections consist of Transfer ware and hand painted porcelain from Great Britain, France, Germany and other European countries. The use of color on this store is dramatically acute with collections of gifts combined as: Blue-white, black-white, pink-white, lavender-green and my favorite the orange and deep purple. There are thousands of great gifts ideas. Oh, there is jewelry all over the place, old and new sitting on plates and tea pots, just a true treasure hunt. The store was opened on March 2006 and the inventory is refreshed weekly with new arrivals.
New store for Aiko Designs | One of the owners of egg & the Urban Mercantile, an amazing home goods store/boutique, stopped by my studio during San Francisco Open Studios and left with quite a few pieces of Aiko Designs jewelry! These pieces will be available soon at egg & the Urban Mercantile, located in Cole Valley in San Francisco.
Back in April I wrote a post about my discovery of Asha Veza in Brooklyn…this time I get to write about how Aiko Designs will be sold at AshaVeza in Brooklyn!
This is a store that I am really excited about — the clothes are gorgeous, the store is really cute and the social mission of AshaVeza is inspirational. Portions of sales from Aiko Designs jewelry will invested back towards the AshaVeza mission of “design with effect” (see previous post for more information on AshaVeza).
Shanti (the Founder) suggested an artist opening for me…so, we’re planning on one in Brooklyn at the end of the month! — more details coming soon.
Asha Veza is located at:
69 5th Ave (between Prospect Place and St. Marks)
Brooklyn, NY 11217
